Pascal is the founder of AgroMixte, a company based in New Brunswick, Canada, dedicated to promoting sustainable modern agriculture through drone technology. When DJI launched the T50 agricultural drone, Pascal immediately decided to purchase one to offer professional services to his local agricultural community.
However, the purchasing process wasn’t as smooth as expected. Initially, Pascal assumed any drone retailer would provide suitable models, so he bought from a nearby drone dealer, thinking it would be convenient for repairs. Unfortunately, he didn’t realize the significant impact the dealer’s technical expertise and after-sales service would have on his future safety and operations.
In fact, not all drone dealers provide comprehensive after-sales support just because they sell agricultural drones. Drone dealers can be categorized into recreational, industrial, and agricultural drone specialists, each varying greatly in terms of technical expertise and service capability.
Pascal quickly learned a serious lesson. Agricultural drones differ significantly from recreational or industrial drones. While recreational drones might only fly a few times a year, agricultural drones need continuous daily operation of 8 to 10 hours during busy farming seasons. This demands high standards of equipment reliability and pilot proficiency. More importantly, agricultural drones require professional, systematic technical support and maintenance to ensure they are always in optimal condition.
Unfortunately, Pascal’s initial supplier couldn’t meet these specialized needs. Shortly after starting to use his T50 drone, Pascal accidentally collided with a tree branch, causing severe damage. The accident deeply discouraged him, yet he didn’t give up.
