The season is over, drone for next year?

by Jenny | posted in: Log In | 0

It’s often around this time of year that everyone starts discussing whether to buy a drone.

The reasons not to buy one seem to be very good, such as the season is over, the drone will not be needed after buying it, and there may be new models next year, etc.

This perspective overlooks several important factors, especially regarding the use of agricultural drones:

    1. Fall Operations: Many crops still require management in the fall, such as sowing cover crops. Recommended model: T50.
    2. Field Analysis and Planning: Autumn is an ideal time to use drones for soil analysis and planning. Drones can collect data to generate soil elevation maps and assess field drainage conditions, providing valuable insights for spring sowing and fertilization. Recommended model: M3M.
    3. Equipment Testing and Optimization: Autumn and winter are great times to test new equipment and optimize procedures. Waiting until spring to start using drones may result in delays and wasted time during the critical sowing season. Purchasing a drone now allows time to familiarize yourself with the equipment and complete necessary training. Recommended Training: DJIAcademy
    4. Avoiding the Spring Rush: Spring and summer are busy seasons in agriculture, with a surge in demand for drones. It’s not uncommon to run out of inventory or face support delays. By purchasing and using drones early, farms can be well-prepared before the spring rush, avoiding potential disruptions.

In summary, using drones in the fall helps farmers prepare in advance, optimize their operations, and ensure efficient production in the following spring. The idea that drones are only useful in spring overlooks many critical agricultural tasks in fall and winter.
