Sharing Insights from a Recent PEC Wine Vineyard Drone Session

http://childpsychiatryassociates.com/treatment-team/kerrie-hill/ Reduce risk. Improve efficiency. Use drone technology the right way.

The Problem Isn’t the Drone—It’s How It’s Used

Today, the industry is no longer about who sells which brand.

    It’s about one thing:

Who can actually make the technology work.

Many growers have already tried drones.

    Some see real results.
    Others experience frustration—or even accidents.

The difference is rarely the machine.

    It’s understanding.

    Why Do Drone Operations Fail?

From what we’ve seen in real-world operations:

    • Poor takeoff location selection
    • Misunderstanding GNSS vs RTK signals
    • Lack of awareness of environmental risks
    • Inconsistent spraying results
    • Over-reliance on automation without proper understanding

Most issues are not equipment failures—
    they are operational and decision-based.

What Defines a Qualified Drone Operator?

Over the past few years, we have trained a large number of agricultural drone pilots. wonderfull.ca/academy

But we don’t measure success by how many we trained.

We measure it by one thing:

    Accident rate.

    Why This Matters

    • Low accident rate → Stable operations
    • Stable operations → Reliable equipment use
    • Reliable use → Higher efficiency
    • Higher efficiency → Lower cost and reduced loss

The real value of drones is not just that they work—
but that they work consistently over time.

What We Actually Teach & Share

In our sessions, we focus on what truly affects results in the field:

    • Droplet size and drift control
    • Airflow and canopy penetration
    • How drones and tractors work together in vineyard operations
    • Risk identification in real environments
    • Safe takeoff positioning and operational awareness

    This is not theory.

These are the factors that determine real outcomes.

A Recent Example: PEC Wine Vineyard Session

We recently had the opportunity to share these insights with vineyard growers through the PEC Wine Association.

What started as a discussion about drones quickly became something deeper:

A conversation about safety, understanding, and how to use technology correctly.

Because at the end of the day:

It’s not about having the tool—
it’s about knowing how to use it.

When There Are Many Paths, How Do You Choose the Right One?

    Technology gives direction.

    But:

    Knowledge determines the outcome.

Bring This to Your Operation or Association

    We regularly work with:

    • Growers
    • Agricultural associations
    • Industry partners

    To provide:

    • Practical training
    • Real-world operational insights
    • Hands-on drone demonstrations

Whether you are just getting started, or looking to improve safety and efficiency in your current operation—

we’re always happy to continue the conversation.
